July Oblate Talks

Oblate Carol Ramela to speak at Saint Vincent on “Healing the Wounds of Jesus” on July 20.

A series of monthly presentations on Benedictine spirituality will continue on Sunday, July 20, from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in seminary classroom Brownfield 202 at Saint Vincent. The topic will be “Healing the Wounds of Jesus through the Rule of Saint Benedict,” and local Oblate Carol Ramela will be the presenter. To appreciate the presentation one does not need to have attended previous sessions. Attendees may also attend Vespers at 5 p.m. in the Archabbey Basilica.

Also, local Oblates of Saint Benedict affiliated with Saint Vincent Archabbey and anyone else who may be interested will meet at 6:45 p.m. on July 20 in Brownfield Room 202 of Saint Vincent Seminary. The agenda will consist of another of a series of discussions from the book The Grace to Desire It: Meditations on St. Benedict’s Twelve Degrees of Humility by Dom Pius Mary Noonan, O.S.B.

Also, Oblates and their guests are welcome to join the monks of the Archabbey for the celebration of the Feast of Saint Benedict on Friday, July 11, beginning with an Oblate presentation at 2 p.m. in Saint Gregory Chapel and continuing with a festive Mass, along with Vespers, for the profession of solemn vows at 4 p.m. in the Archabbey Basilica.
