Brother Finnbar McEvoy, O.S.B., will speak to the Oblates of Saint Benedict of Saint Vincent Archabbey at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16 in Brownfield Room 202, a Seminary classroom. His topic will be The Liturgy of the Hours. Brother Finnbar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in math and physics from The Catholic University of America in 2013. He received a Master of Education degree in high school math education from the University of Notre Dame in 2015.
He professed simple vows on March 22, 2021 as a monk of Saint Mary’s Abbey, Morristown, New Jersey. He began studies at Saint Vincent Seminary in 2022 as a monk of Saint Mary’s Abbey. He earned the Master of Arts in Catholic Philosophical Studies, magna cum laude, from Saint Vincent Seminary in 2023. In early 2024 he transferred his vows to Saint Vincent Archabbey. Brother Finnbar has tutored students at Saint Vincent College in physics and has assisted with retreats through the College Campus Ministry and the Archabbey Vocations Office.
To appreciate the presentation one does not need to have attended previous sessions.
Additionally, Oblates and guests may attend vespers at 5 p.m. in the Basilica and stay for supper in the guest dining room. Following supper, Oblates will meet at 6:45 p.m. in Brownfield 202 to discuss a book from the current reading list.
