Father James R. Orr, a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, will speak to the Oblates of Saint Benedict of Saint Vincent Archabbey at 3 p.m Sunday, June 22, on the topic of Ladder of Monks: Lectio Divina by Guigo II. Father Orr most recently served as pastor of Saint Aloysius, Reserve Township, and Most Holy Name of Jesus, Pittsburgh, and director of Saint Anthony Chapel which enshrines 5000 relics of the saints. He has taught in the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s Catechist Certification Program and the Post-ordination Program for the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies from Penn State University, a Master of Divinity from Mt. St. Mary Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD, and a Master of Arts in Formative Spirituality from the Institute of Formative Spirituality, Duquesne University.will speak to the Oblates of Saint Benedict of Saint Vincent Archabbey at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13 in Brownfield Room 202 of Saint Vincent Seminary.
To appreciate the presentation one does not need to have attended previous sessions.
Additionally, Oblates and guests may attend vespers at 5 p.m. in the Basilica and stay for supper in the guest dining room. Following supper, Oblates will meet at 6:45 p.m. in Brownfield 202 to discuss a book from the current reading list.
