Father Nathanael Polinski, O.S.B., will speak to the Oblates of Saint Benedict of Saint Vincent Archabbey at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 21 in Brownfield Room 202, a Seminary classroom. His topic will be Wired for Worship: Establishing a School for the Lord’s Service. Presently academic dean of Saint Vincent Seminary and an associate professor of Sacred Scripture and Biblical Languages, he is the author of That the Scriptures Might Be Fulfilled Through Perfect Worship: An Investigation of John 19:36-37.
Father Nathanael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993. He began studies at Saint Vincent Seminary in 2006. He received the Master of Divinity degree from the Seminary, and the Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree, both in 2012 with highest honors. He began graduate studies at The Catholic University of America in 2012 and successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in December of 2017.
Father Nathanael entered the novitiate of Saint Vincent Archabbey in 2005, made simple profession of monastic vows on July 10, 2006, and solemn profession of monastic vows on July 11, 2009. He was ordained a deacon on July 23, 2011, and a priest on May 19, 2012.
Oblates and guests may attend vespers at 5 p.m. in the Basilica and stay for supper in the guest dining room.
