Father Donald Raila, O.S.B., director of the Oblate Program at Saint Vincent Archabbey, discusses what the role of the abbot in a Benedictine monastic community should be, based on teaching from the Rule of Saint Benedict, as well as reflections written on that teaching from Benedictines of the Archabbey as well as others.
