Humility and Poverty: Benedictine Spirituality Talk @ Saint Vincent Basilica Crypt

Oblates from all locations and guests are invited to monthly meetings at the Archabbey.

The October 17 talk will be by Father Philip Kanfush, O.S.B., on “Humility and Poverty in Benedictine Spirituality.” Father Philip has been a monk of the Archabbey since 1993, and presently serves as procurator or chief financial officer. He has a doctor of education degree from West Virginia University, and has graduate and undergraduate degrees from Saint Vincent College, Saint Vincent Seminary, the University of Pittsburgh and has completed several post-graduate certificates at Pennsylvania State University. He holds Pennsylvania teaching certificates in eight subject areas, is a doctoral level board certified behavior analyst. Founder of the Bearcat B.E.S.T. transition program at Saint Vincent College, he has been a full-time member of the Education Department faculty since 2007. A former parochial vicar of Saint Vincent Basilica Parish, his book, Renewed Each Morning, received a national honorable mention award by the Catholic Press Association in 2006 in the category first-time author of a book.
