Brother David Kelly, O.S.B., will talk to the Oblates of Saint Benedict of Saint Vincent Archabbey on “‘What Kind of Man the Abbot Ought to Be’ (RB2) and the Forthcoming Abbatial Election,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15 in 202 Brownfield, Saint Vincent Seminary.
Brother David has a master of arts degree in religious studies from Providence College, and a master of arts degree in political science from Georgetown University, a licentiate in canon law from Saint Paul University, Ottawa, and a master of canon law degree from the University of Ottawa. He received a master of library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh.
He is presently director of libraries at Saint Vincent. At the Archabbey, Brother David has been a member and was first elected a member of the Archabbey Council of Seniors in 1989. He is also on the Archabbey Board of Incorporators (1998-present). He served as subprior (1994-1998) and in 1998 was named administrative assistant to the Archabbot (1998-2003). In 2003, he was named canonical advisor to the Archabbot.
